Great food , you can't go wrong . I travel all the way from Long Beach ca to eat over here . I'm leaving today with 4 dinner plates . And the prices are phenomenal

At first glance the outside seems sketchy but that's how you know the food is good. To start, we got the Smothered Short Ribs with a side of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese and Corn Bread. Everything was nicely seasoned Corn Bread nice and crispy on outside and inside nice and fluffy, the only downside was I am not a fan of Collard Greens, but that's just my opinion. We also got an order of waffle fry's which came out super crispy. Overall 9/10 Would Recommend, would come back when in the area again.

Back for the second time had to come get the short ribs. The first time I had oxtails and let me tell you they were some of the biggest oxtails I've seen in my life. They definitely didn't skimp out on them either.
AMAZING service from Shay and the food is always piping hot!!! I ordered turkey meatloaf, rice & gravy, cabbage/greens mixed, yams & corn bread for my Father. And for myself, I ordered their Angus bacon cheeseburger with mac & cheese. DONT forget to order one of her special blends of kool-aid drinks to wash down your delicious meal.
Last night we ordered dinner. I haven't had RJs in over 5 years since before covid. It was our go to spot and last night it reminded me why. It was so damn good. I had the smothered fried chicken dinner and I asked for thighs only. Girl they gave me 4 thighs!! I was in heaven lol my two sides for the plate were greens and candied yams. I also ordered potato salad, rice & gravy and dressing on the side. Real big back type ish. Lol I'm a Samoan who is particular about seasoned food. Some people just think good seasoning is making everything salty. Not RJs ! Their seasoning be seasoning deeeown. That chicken was so goof and everything was piping hot! The potato salad was good I prefer my potatoes cooked a Lil more down but sister liked how firm they were. I like my potato salad a Lil more softer. Those candied yams are still my favorite. Oh I also got a pitcher of sweet tea. It came in 2 big cups but I def would've filled a pitcher. Sweet Tea was coo. The dressings was good too. The greens were good but that chicken was the star. I just wish whatever seasoning they used for the chicken that they would've used in the gravy for the rice & gravy. That would've smacked. Anyways, RJs to me is still the best soul food I had in the area. Lowkey want it for breakfast too . #BigBackDiaries
Pleasantly surprised and satisfied!! I'm a harsh critic when it comes to oxtails and dressing, I'm and very pleased ! I'm originally from SC so I'm always on the hunt for good soul food when I don't feel like cooking. Good food, seasoned well, great price and I don't have to drive all the way to LA for Dulans. Great service as well. The wait is 30mins but that's to be expected for soul food. I'll definitely be coming back!
The customer service was superb. Neisha was very attentive, very helpful with deciding what to order. She made sure we were well taken care of. The food was cool.
